Introduction

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. My wife and I were both raised in the great state of Texas only about an hours drive NE of Carrollton (Blue Ridge for her, Greenville for me). You've got some really good layers. Black Sex Links are my favorites; hardy and friendly egg laying machines. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds) and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out over 300 eggs per hen per year. You will get loads of eggs from those two ladies. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Also when do I start adding grit, & how much?

When chicks are on starter feed, they don't need grit as it's contained within the started feed, however if you feed them anything else other than starter feed, I would supply them with some chick grit. Just keep some out in a separate pan.
