Hi all. I am just starting to learn about raising chickens and will be looking and some chick's tomorrow. I look forward to learning from everyone as this is a new adventure for my family and I.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. What breed of chicks are you considering getting?

The Learning Center is a great place to start your chicken education. Welcome to the flock.

I got my chickens today. I got 4 different breeds, Americana, Silver laced Wyandotte, Rhode Island red, and leg horn cross. I am very excited to raise them as it has been a dream to have chickens for myself and my youngest son.

Congratulations! It's always so exciting getting those first chickens. Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. My granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loves our chickens.

I'm glad you joined us.

It sounds like you have a nice little flock! I've really enjoyed my Wyandottes in particular; they've been sweet, docile, very inquisitive, excellent egg layers, and quite hardy. My Americana has also been a good egg layer and gentle chicken.
