1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
- I moved to a ranch in Yacolt, WA in 2004 and the owner had three breeds of chickens. Unfortunately, he couldn't quite keep them separate, so we had a bunch of mutts.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
- When the owner's chickens all died or ran away, it was about 3 years I received a flock of Silkie mixes. I was given 23 mixed and 7 purebred silkie chicks. 1 died or would've been 8.
- (3) What breeds do you have?
- I'm not sure which other breed the adult chickens were mated with. Some of them are disfigured, and need to go.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
- I found out about BYC because I was looking up how to help a chicken with a single chick.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
- I like to go horseback riding and I participate in Train Robbery re-enactments for the BYCX! Yup, that's the name of it and it's a steam train too.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
- I am a green chicken farmer. My goal is to develop a business with the chickens. Maybe I can help others brood their chicks. I have some broody hens and they are really interesting to watch. Bok Bwok has 1 live chick.
