Hi! My name is Lucy and I have been owning chickens for 4 years (since 2017). I currently have 8 hens- four of which are chicks from May of 2021. I have buffs, easter eggers, welsummers, and a golden laced wyandotte.
My favorite aspect of raising backyard chickens is the responsibility they give me. No matter what happens, the coop life moves on, and the hens must be tended to. They definitely keep me grounded!
I love to visit our local farm camp to help with the animals, and also spend time with my own flock! Besides the farm, I love drawing and going outside. As I’m still in school, it will probably consume me in the fall.
I don’t have any other pets, but will definitely in the future. I do have siblings, though (3 brothers).
Fun fact- I’ve taken full responsibility of raising my hens since I got them! They were a life-saver for me in many aspects.
