I have several breeds of checkens. I've kept chickens for 11 years now and have had no problems
until recently. Some of the hens have developed inward turning toes and/or turned under feet.
They are unable to walk, they do evenually die. Can anyone tell me what might be causing this and
if there is a way to cure it. Thanks so much for any help you can offer.

I give them food serepately. I had one die yesterday and today I notice that one of my reds has a foot that turns under as though she has a weak ankle.

I am tring to find answers for you. Have you noticed any changes in their behavior (appetite, sleepy, etc...)? Do they have any other physical symptoms (runny noses, flopping, trouble breathing)? The more info you can provide the better.

Have you checked their feet for sores. It could be bumblefoot.

The first pics are of severe bumblefoot. I think I saw another link posted on this thread too.

I haven't noticed any other symptoms. The problem seems to come on sudden, one day they're fine
and the next they can't walk. The chicks were mail ordered and I've had so many problems. They
are 8 months old. I have a couple chicks that have barely grown at all and the others were very slow
growing. I called the company that I ordered them from and they were no help.

You are welcome. Add to this post earlier in the day tomorrow. I think the people who know what they are talking about go to bed early.

Sounds like your chickens have "Curly Toe" which is a Riboflavin deficiency. It is seen a lot in pastured poultry. Immediate action needs to be taken! You need to feed your chickens diced raw liver or Brewers yeast sprinkled on their feed. I would recommend feeding Purina Flockraiser after you get your chickens back on their feet. I have a friend who lost half her chicks because she was feeding a brand of feed that turned out to be deficient in Riboflavin! I found this information about "Curly Toe" online at www.apppa.org/APPPAarticles/mortality.htm they list a lot of other chicken diseases also.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CHICKENS!
