Iowa Blues and Chanteclers egglaying????

We're going to increase our flock for more eggs this spring and want to add a couple of different breeds. Does anyone know if Iowa Blues and Chanteclers are good layers? Personalities?

HI Coloradochick!

I have CHanteclers and I really like them!

They are awesome layers and quiet, friendly birds.
I have 17 hens ( 3 of them are not Chanties) and I get on average 13 eggs a day and they have been laying for only 8 weeks now. So good winter layers.

They are winter hardy, love to free range and are easy keepers.
The roos (I have two Chanteclers and one BO) are very calm and non aggressive. I love these guys.

Morning Nicole! Thanks for the info, it does help. We've got the standard good layers now, RIR, BO, NR, BL AUST, but I want to get a new breed and the Chanteclers looked liked they were really pretty and it said they were decent layers.
