Iowa Blues - Breed thread and discussion

I have had enough as well. My poor babies got moved out to the coop so now I worry

I know they will be fine, but enough already. My muscovies are starting to lay, but I expect the eggs will likely freeze.

It appears the ice age has moved back in to Northwest Iowa. When will this end???!!!!

Warming up too fast here, have huge puddles and mud everywhere. Still, the chickies love it and it is a heat wave to them when it is 34 out! Normal temp for our area this time of year is mid 40s.

Actually, that's not too far fetched!  I kept my last batch of IB chicks in the garage through out the winter because I had no place prepared and couldn't get it done for the ice and snow and frozen ground.  By the time I got them out of there, a couple of the pullets had started laying!  They sure had it made, living in their little penthouse in the garage.  LOL

I've had bantam "chicks" in my garage since November. I feel like its not going to be warm enough to put then out until June :(

I think I finally convinced my Denny Johnston pullets to start laying again with my whining and complaining

. For about two weeks all I had laying was my pullet from Connie and one from Kari.

I'm also installing more lights in the coop today in efforts to stabilize them more in this insane weather... will it ever get warm??? I remember this time last year the snow was almost all gone! My birds all but attack me at the door because they want to go outside now, they're ready for spring too

. Now if my Ameraucanas ever decide to start laying I'll be one happy camper!

We haven't had much discussion on here lately, so I'll post some pictures for discussion. What do you think of these guys? Be an honest judge now, what do you like, and what would you fix?

Personally I like #1 better. I like that he has red earlobes and dark eyes. His tail angle is nice.
His wings could be tighter. I cant really tell much on his natural stance.
Edit:
#2 I would like to to see less black in his hackles, and I'd like to see his back a bit shorter.

(Didn't see the third at first) #3: I like this guy, but he carries himself higher than what I'm used to seeing. His size is nice though.
