Iowa Blues - Breed thread and discussion

Curt, I'm on page 20 currently, it's looking pretty sharp. Figured a blending of the paragraphs about the W.C. Fenton article is in order. I put some revisions in based on this most recent article, see what you think and alter as you see fit. :) Not sure if you wish to add something in the intro area about the timing of John Logsdon's passing away.

I have the articles down as being published on Feb 27 and 28, was the WC Fenton one on the 2nd? If so, I need to change that reference in a few places. :)

Yeah the Fenton article with his picture was published on the 2nd. And as far as any revisions go, revise away.

I totally trust your keen eye!

I just registered on the Iowa Blue club Forum. THIS THING IS AMAZING!!!! What a vaulable resource for our club and our membership. I have not come across another breed club (in any species) that is doing this. (If there are some, I'm currently unaware). This is exactly the kind of innovative progress I think of when I think of breed promotion!!! If we are to take this breed to the next level in the upcoming years and get their popularity to rival that of other heavy breeds, then we've got to out-think (so to speak) the other clubs. We've got to invest in our membership and give them the tools they need to propel their breeding to the next level. FANTASTIC WORK CONNIE !!!

I would encourage every club member to check out this forum and register. What a great tool for connecting our membership and meeting the goals of both current breeders as well as those who are new to the breed. This so neatly balances the needs and goals of individuals who have been in this for awhile and those who are just getting started.

This just thrills me!!!

OK, website updated with the most recent additions from Curt. Curt, if you want, I can look into formatting the PDF into an E-book that you can flip through online. For now, Curt's "History and Characteristics of the Iowa Blue" is now viewable on the IBCC website and can be printed off from a pdf download if you wish. It's posted in the historical archives section for now. I may need to revamp the education area and combine that with the historical archives, etc., but I'll have to tackle that another time. Gonna go take the boys to the castle playground.

Congratulations Curt on the publication of your book, and thank you for allowing me to edit, it was a fun project. I hope everyone enjoys. On the website there is a downloadable PDF to download/print and there is a viewable window right on the site to read online. A huge effort on Curt's part, not only to compile this beautiful work, but to bloodhound down the majority of the new information we've obtained in the past year. Well done!

Connie and Curt, you guys are AMAZING! Just had a chance to get online and just about fell over! How fortunate I am to have found this fabulous group!

My hatch is coming along nicely so far. 4 Birchens and 6 Silver Penciled.........I've got quite a few eggs left to hatch so we'll see how well they do.
