Who has used SpeeDee delivery? What's involved, do you need an account? Do they ship chicks, older birds, too?

I use the Acurite Home Comfort Monitor. I have about a dozen of them now, because DH steals them for other purposes

. They are a little big, but easy to read and keeps track of high and low records for 24 hours.

I just used them to send 15 3 week old chicks to Eric, and I thought they did a great job. My issue is the hub is about an hour from me to drop them off. They do offer the option to pick up but you have to be willing to give up the day to wait for them. Still if you can do that it is only $6 to schedule a pick up. If you call customer service they will tell you they require an "approved bird shipping box" but I just punched holes in an appropriate sized box for the birds and they accepted it. They also said they wouldn't receive extra treatment, but the driver himself told me he'd take them in the cab

They won't guarantee same day delivery, and tracking sucks because they don't actually scan a barcode like UPS or the PO. Still, I think for the right circumstance it's a appropriate venue.

How cute is this little peanut? It's from my "Iowacana" project. Looking towards B/B/S over Iowa Blue coloration, blue egg gene, and pea comb for the long run. This little one is 3/4 Iowa Blue (Silver penciled cockerel).

So what color is this? Blue?

Yep, that one is a blue. Momma was a blue IB cross.

Last Sunday's hatch, photos of the brown chicks:

The first 3 (especially the first one) are a darker/less red coloration. The last two are more rusty colored. Variable presence of striping.
