I hatched out some goslings a while back and after selling most of them I was left with 3 mixed goslings. They have been in a run that my gander Ironman can see into and watch over them. Within a couple days he had gotten accustomed to staying by the fence and making sure no other critters got to close to the babies (there are also 4 pekin ducklings for my little sister, she is showing 2 of them in fair this year in the meat pen). He even went after my dad once...lol...he free ranges with another gander of mine so he is always loose...and everytime I try to do something with the goslings he freaks out and tries to attacks me...so I figured why not just let him take care of them...so I let 2 of the goslings out and he rounded them up and seemed to be waiting for the others...sooooo I let all 7 babies loose with him and he is doing great and watching over them like a great father! The other gander sometimes walks around with Ironman and the babies but usually all the babies run around and Ironman just follows them making sure they dont get into trouble lol I thought this was a kinda cool story about Ironman

That is a much better daddy than my Muscovy drake- he wants to kill the ducklings that I hatched out and take out to the yard each day. He is an intimidating bully who hisses at the fence every time they are out there.

What kind of goose is Ironman?

OK I finally got some pics of Ironman and his babies...here they are!!
This is Ironman watching over the babies...you can see the ducklings here...

Oh my gosh, that is so sweet. I've got baby geese and 3 week old "teenage" runner ducks. the only adult geese i have are the Canada guys that fly in and out every day. They were certainly eyeballing my crew when I took them out by the pond yesterday....

My luck they'll fight me for them!
