Has anyone tried this to break the habit of chickens roosting up in trees? I have a couple hens that are roosting in the trees right next to my dog kennel and I am scared of what would happen if they accidently flew into it. I have read about locking the girls in the coop for a couple days and have tried clipping their wings, however I also have a crow problem so I was wondering if the Ribbon would be a useful solution to both problems. I really dont want to clip their wings again but I will definately keep them locked up for a week or so if you guys believe the Ribbon is poitnless.
Thanks for your input!

All I can say is that my husband has used something similar on the eves of our tractor shop to keep birds from nesting up there and so far it's worked nicely. I have no idea how it would work trying to keep chickens out of trees. As far as crows, I'm half suspicious that, crows being the intelligent creatures they are, just might be attracted to the shiny colors! Might be worth a try but I wouldn't be surprised if the chickens ignored it after a while. What about attaching shade cloth over the dog runs to keep the chickens out? Although personally I'd work on getting them in the coop at night for their own protection.

It just occurred to me that they might be attracted to the ribbon because of the shining colors. I am going to ask my BF if we can cover the dog kennel buy in the mean time I will keep my broom handle handy and make sure the girls are safe in their coop
