That moment you have to bring your flock in for the night because someone (not us) decided to irrigate and the people in charge of turning the water off either forgot to turn it off or or turned it to hight. Now at three of your neighbors yards are completely floode. Including your flocks pen. But it's a good thing your coop is elevated, but you don't want to take a chance with the water still rising that you gather all your birds and put them in the garage where they should be safe. But at least the ducks got to enjoy it a little. These pictures are 2 hours before we where forced to bring them in. Not sure if you can see it. But but 9pm the water had reached the blue shed in the back.the white fence is part of the coop. By 920pm that whole area was flooded.

I know nothing about irrigation. But I believe it has to do with the small ditch on the back of our property. It was over flowing earlier. Our next door neighbor uses irrigation to water their pasture. It never gotten this bad. Normally it's a quarter of out the picture shows and soaked into the ground in 2 hours. We're hoping it's gone down enough by morning to let the birds back into their pen. And I had just cleaned the duck pool 2 hours Pier to it reaching the pen. 😭😅

It's called flood irrigation. Most fields in the mountain west are done this way to minimize water lose from evaporation.
I don't see the ducks complaining.
They most definitely weren't 😂. The chickens however hated it. We don't irrigate. But our neighbors do. Whoever is in charge of turning the water on didn't turn it off when they were supposed to. It ruined our right side neighbors garden and started going into our left side neighbors garage. It was a crazy night. Our neighbors were days they wanted water but not that much 😅. Birds were not a fan of spending the night in our garage.
