Is 26 weeks even a possible age for a cochin to go broody?

I have a pretty little blue cochin pullet who refused to leave or share her nesting box today, she's "feathered" it was bailing twine, grass clippings, and bits of fuzz... and is FURIOUSLY trying to hatch a golf ball left in their from before they were laying. I let her have a few of the eggs laid today because I felt bad for her efforts- knowing full well the golf ball isnt ever going to respond to her nurturing.

She hasnt left her box since yesterday afternoon, and has apparently scared the other chickens so much they are all huddled as far away from her box as possible. lol.

Iam hoping she'll stick with it... but being she's so young who knows... lol.

whats your earliest broody?
