Is 5 month old pheasants to old to tame?

I am planning on buying a pair of 2 pheasants next week , and i am wondering if they are too old to tame? And will they fly away?

Generally the wild instinct remains and is evident by that age. Given the opportunity they will fly away. They will have to be penned in a relatively large, covered, predator proof pen.

Pheasants are wild, and won't ever be pets. Like sourland mentioned, they need a very large covered safe run.
Beautiful, but more difficult, at least because of their space requirements.
Do you need a permit to have them?

They can be tamed down somewhat but most will never be 'pet' tame....occasionally you'll see some that are but they are the exception!
Also depends on what species, the True pheasants very rarely tame down enough to become pets. Goldens and Amherst can be tamed down to a point, where you can handle them without them freaking out and will eat out of your hand but for the most part gamebirds just don't tame.
And as @Folly's place , mentioned, a permit will be required to raise any of the true pheasants.
