Is a 3 day old chick safe with 6 week old pullet?

I just lost one of two 6 week old pullets to a predator and I'm considering replacing it with a chick. Both would be sharing a nice size brooder. Bad idea? Should I replace it with pullet of the same age?

It usually isn't a good idea to put a young bird in with an older one. I think you'd be better off getting a bird who is around the same age. Just remember to quarantine!

Yes. Keeping them separate will give you time to see if any diseases are developing in either one without endangering the other.
