My husband is designing our chicken coop and I'm trying to determine what is actually an appropriate size for 4 chickens. Is a 4x4 (16 sq ft) space a good enough size?
Also does anyone know of any reason not to split and 8x4 shed type space with ducks on one side and chickens on the other? Thanks for any feedback!
Edited to Add: There would be a run on either side-one for the chickens and one for the ducks. They would be out when I am around. They would have to stay in the coop/run if I'm not due to the resident hawk population. The run would be about 4x10.
