Is a broody contagious?

I posted earlier this week that I set my first dozen hatching eggs under an EE and Mille fleur d'uccle. This is all of day 3. My golden sebright is now broody, starting the day we set the other eggs.

So, this morning while d'uccle was off her nest, I slipped a fake egg in place of her brood and put a real egg under the sebright. The sebright has plucked her belly bare just like the others. I thought sebrights were not known for being broody?

I will not be crushed if this doesn't work, but am excited to hatch eggs under a broody and watch the whole process with my kids. Any one with experience with a broody sebright?

It does seem to be contagious. I have five hens now setting, a couple of days to a week apart from each other. One of them is a silver spangled hamburg which is not supposed to go broody either. My first two, a silkie and a buff orpington, are at day 21 and day 23 now and so far nothing has hatched.
