Is a Silkie a best egg laying chicken?

To be honest, Silkies are very poor layers of tiny eggs. Add to that, they go broody often at which time they won't lay at all.
I can probably name 50 breeds that are more prolific layers of larger eggs.
The good thing about Silkies other than being reliably broody hens is that their black skin makes them sought after in the Asian community for meat.
The Asian markets around me have big freezers full of Silkies.

I would think Australorps have to be among the top layer breeds. From my own experience I know I have layers that are near 5 years old. If you read about them, one broke a laying record sometime in history. They're not known to brood often (at least mine never have) but they're a good temperament DP breed.
