Is an EE mixed with anything an EE?

So, we are getting ready for our first attempt at hatching some chicks since we ended up with an awesome EE roo by chance. Other than him, we have a blue isbar hen & then a variety of mutts. Just out of curiosity, would anything hatched between him and our girls be considered an EE (since my understanding is EE's are basically mutts that lay colorful eggs)? It really doesn't matter to me since they are all purely for our own enjoyment and we don't even know the breed mixture of most of our girls, I'm just wondering. Thanks!

Yes,they are all EE if mixed with the roo.

You should get colored egg laying pullets from your Isbar hens, these will be considered Easter Eggers. Whether or not you will get Easter Eggers from your other hens depends on whether your rooster hatched from a blue egg or a green egg.

Since EEs are hybrids with no set standards by a poultry governing body, what exactly defines an EE is somewhat vague. However, I think all poultry enthusiasts would agree that if a blue egg layer (Araucana, Ameraucana, Legbar) is crossed with another breed, the offspring is an EE Also, if an EE is crossed with another breed, hybrid, or EE and the offspring lays eggs some color other than brown or white, then that offspring is an EE.

I am waiting for when all of the single combed EE's start showing up from Cream Legbar crosses. This is going to be interesting, since most EE's have pea combs.

If they lay colored eggs, I call them EE. If they lay brown or cream, I call them barnyard mix. If I were to be selling them as chicks before they start laying, I would say they're mixed with a chance of laying colored eggs. There's no definition of EE, so it's pretty much up to you whatever you call them. I like to be as accurate as possible when selling birds as I live in a small area and want to be known as reputable.

And i want to add.... In my opinion, for what it is worth, pink eggs are very pretty in a basket of mixed color eggs...... But, they are still just very pale brown eggs......

By the way, for a very eye catching basket of colored eggs, add some white eggs and some chocolate eggs. They really accentuate the blues, greens and olives.
