Is are these eggs dead they all have this same thing on the top of the egg???

Ok thanks it’s just it’s been really stressful today because the hem kept on rejecting them and they were moved around and pooped on a lot today so I got worried that they would die

How is the hen rejecting them? Kicking them out of the nest? Leaving the nest? Is she separated from the flock? How long was she broody before you gave her eggs? She may be nervous if you are checking on her a lot. Does she have the ability to go outside if she wants?

She does and I’m not checking on her lots anymore maybe that was a factor but if I give the other ones treats she’ll get off and try to get some. I tried to separate her but she got really stressed and wouldn’t sit on the eggs so she’s in the coop. She doesent do anything to them she just gets off she finally got on them and hopefully she will not keep on getting off them and get really broody

How long was she broody before you gave her the eggs? It's OK for her to get off the nest at least once a day. It's actually good for her to do so. She needs to get out, eat, drink, dust bathe and poop. You don't want her pooping in the nest or it can kill the eggs. When it's been warm (or hot) out, I've had broodies off the nest for up to an hour and the chicks hatched just fine. We need to remember that they know far more about being chickens than we do. Their instincts are strong.

I actually prefer my broodies to set in the general population. I mark the eggs I want them to hatch, and remove all others daily (this is very imortant for a couple of reasons). This way the hen can come and go as she pleases and is still part of the flock. I think it helps maintain their position in the pecking order and they don't have to start all over. Also, in my opininon it's good for them to raise their babies in the flock. I had one broody who took her babies out when they were 24 hours old. Another one would keep them away from the rest for about a week. Either way - when mama raises them in the flock from an early age, there isn't all the drama of integration when they get older. She protects them and by the time she's weaned them they have learned their manners and the other chickens have accepted them.

Yes but she would stay out all day and she wouldn’t always sit on them at night and they would be very cold. Yes she was broody but for some reason not as much now. This morning she pooped all over the eggs and some look like they have stains like you do on clothing. I let her out and if she doesn’t go back in by the time the eggs are colder I put her back on the eggs and she sits on them.

How long has she had these eggs? How long was she broody before you gave them to her?

Along time, we went away for the long weekend and she was still broody, we got the eggs Sunday.

If she was broody for "a long time" before you gave her the eggs, she may not be broody anymore. It kind of sounds that way to me if she was not sitting on them day and night. My broodies usually quit being broody after 3-4 weeks if I don't give them eggs to hatch. If she sat on those eggs for over 24 hours and then left the nest all night, they may have started to develop and then died.

Sorry for the misleading comment she was broody for a week and I think they might still be alive but I’m not completely sure I guess I’ll have to wait till day 8-10
