Is being broody bad????

She pulls out her brest feathers and doesn't lay, and every now and then some broody hens stop eating to avoid getting off the nest, but normally, there are no ill effects.

I want broody hens, I think that the hens will always produce enough eggs if I collect them every evening (breakfast burritos), but not enough chicks to keep my family in enchiladas.

Does being broody effect the hen? I think that if they go broody and raise a family they are happier.

I have chicks hatching from a broody domonique right now. There's a little yellow bantam from a green egg, a darkish brown egg is pipping, and a blue-green regular sized egg hatched a little black chick minutes ago

I will in the morning! There are 2 black chicks and 2 yellow. I think both yellow are bantams
