My boys named this chick Brickwall and now it is living up to the name. We can't have a rooster but I don't want to make a mistake and give away their favorite chick if there is any chance it's a hen. Pretty sure it's a rooster based on reading here but would love opinions from the experts

He looks like a boy to me, I see sickle feathers and pointy saddle feathers coming in. He is quite handsome. I would think you could find him a non-freezer home with his good looks and some folks would love an EE boy to hatch some green-egged flock replacers.

And I almost forgot:

OK, Thanks. That's what I was afraid of. Now how do I find him a good home. . . My boys want to be able to text him :) and go see him sometimes. That may be optimistic but we would like to find a good home for him with someone who wants EE chicks and a handsome rooster.

He's started crowing a lot today too so I think he needs a new home soon.

Thanks!

Just wanted to say that I am sorry your boys will miss their pet chicken... The texting part broke my heart! I am sure you will find him a good home, maybe they can email pictures every once in awhile, just explain the situation to them! ;) he is a very pretty rooster!

Just thought I'd tell you that the reason you are having trouble posting pics is that in order to deter spammers, you have to have at least a few posts before you can post pics or links. at least that's the way it used to be. After that posting pics is easy just press the 'insert image' button (just 5 to the left of the smiley face), then search for your pic and submit. VOILA, pic is posted.

Thanks for all the help and advice!I posted a listing on craigslist to see if I can find a local home for him. Maybe after I get a few more posts I can list him on BST here for free also.

Thanks again!
