Is Cabot Australian timber oil a safe preservative to put on our wood coop?

We wanted to use linseed oil but our local Lowes is out. Or can you use latex paint?

Modern finishes are not toxic once dried. I would use a product intended for outdoor use as the exposure to the weather, heat, cold, and moisture will cause a product rated for indoor use to deteriorate rapidly. I use exterior latex paint on my coop.
