Is chicken okay?

I just got back from a vacation and I came back to see one of my buff orpingtons had dried blood on the top of her beak and part of her beak gone. Is she okay? What do you think happened? I have a fox in my area.

Its really hard to say what happened. It could have been a fox, or another chicken, or she could have done it to herself on the fence or something like that. Without a picture to access the damage, I'm afraid I can't offer much help. Its a good thing its stopped bleeding on its own. If she's eating and drinking on her own, she'll likely be just fine. And if only a little of her beak is missing, it may very well grow back. Good luck, sorry about your chicken.
