Is dog food bad for chickens

In the mornings when I come out side my chickens are all waiting outside of the house for bread or any scraps I have left from dinner the night before.. After I give them what I have I go and feed all my animals dogs cat goat and of course give the chickens their feed .my chickens always eat their Feed but as soon as I put dog food out they go after it. My question is . is it bad for em .. Or is it OK.. Somebody told me it'll make the eggs taste bad is that true. Just wondering

You can feed chickens dog food.
The only drawback to feeding dog food to chickens is that it is more expensive than feeding them grain and other purely vegetarian type food.
Never heard that it'll make the eggs taste bad though.
