@Trimurtisan @Ted_Harrell @sourland @Duck_life @aart ....In reading back through these posts I thought I'd give you an update on Dona Lou, the very fine hen, and her popularity in the flock. She has not been bullied at all. She is treated equally and mingles/roosts freely. She's a streamlined roadrunner who darts in and out of the flock charging after whatever she wants. She follows me around chattering constantly and loves to be pet. She lays beautiful big white eggs even though her svelte body looks too small for them. The only thing that's different about her is that she seems to be very interested in the attentions Pierre, the BCM rooster, pays to the other hens. She runs over to him almost every time he mounts a hen and hangs out, even putting her face up to his. Poor Dona Lou, Pierre is just not interested in her. Probably a good thing, since he's 3 times her size. We get a big kick out of her, she's unique in looks and personality!
