Last night a 6 week old duckling jumped from a four foot off the ground enclosure. Initially seemed okay, then Sat down with right leg bent under, with foot pointing toward left. Is able to paddle in water with this leg, but can't bear weight on it. Is eating and drinking in small bin with heat light. Cannot feel break or see anything unusual. Could it be a sprain or something wrong in hip socket or does this sound broken? Last time I took duck into vet it cost several hundred dollars and duckling died during procedure. I would pay it if we had it, but we don't..... thank you for any help evaluating, treating and suggestions for pain.
