is Dumor (dumour) a good feed brand?

Here in NC Dumor is more expensive. I raise show quality bantams and have used both. I see very little difference other than having to drive farther for Dumor and as i said it is more expensive.

Dumor has such mythology surrounding it, that I do not understand.

It is merely Purina in a "house brand" packaging, exclusive to Tractor Supply. Think Whirlpool/Kenmore. Sears doesn't have a washer/dryer/refrigerator factory either. Dumor is milled and packaged at a singular Purina plant, as I understand it.

I will buy either Purina branded, Dumor, Southern States, or Armada. The poop smells like poop regardless. Such to do over do do.

Dumor is all I feed from start to finish, starter, then starter grower, then layer, the ducks were on grower/finisher. my chickens lay better on the dumor vs Purina.
Purina is more expensive, and as far as smell i have not noticed any worse than any other chickens / coops.

Purina is vegetarian feed, which is probably why less smell with their feces. However, I prefer one with animal protein, which is more natural to a chicken.

That animal protein is probably what make the poo smell worse, if it does...

I don't use either.
I am using Wendlands 151 egg maker 20% protein. They seem to like it fine, eggs are good, chickens are healthy, not too expensive, but not cheap. I haven't really checked the lable, I guess I should, but my chickens get to free range, so I didn't really think to. I buy it at Southland Feed. IMO, TSC is pricey.
I used Lone Star medicated chick starter and it worked real good too. Bought it at the same feed store.

I won't start on dog food, but, for us, we only feed our 1 dog Wellness brand, and do home cooking for her. The difference since I started that 6-7 years ago is amazing. She's now 12 and in great shape!

PM me if you have a dog that's sickly or having seizures. I have some ideas for you, if you want to stay away from frequent vet visits and bills, and medication that will make your dog a zombie.​

You can add Country Acres, Crossroad, Animax, Homegrown, Pure Pride, Producer’s Pride, Organic Pride, Noble Goat, Farm Club, Feed Solutions, Nutri Source, Dobbin’s Delights and PMI Nutrition to Purina's house brands.

Animal protein is more easily digested than plant protein but may have a little to do with the smell but I doubt it.
Some Feed Mfg's add supplements to mask the smell some.

Crazy how that happens....I have used Dumour since I started with chickens. My chickens love it....they turned their beaks at SS's I had given to me. Anyway, I prefer UN medicated from the get go. I even use Un medicated for the Turkeys too.I have no problems with the ducks on Dumour either.I do give Oyster shell free choice as well, so i don't know about shell strength. Dumour is cheaper where I am and readily available. I fortunately have never been to TSC and they had none. I have had to ask for them to bring some more up from out back before...but they have always had it.I couldn't tell you about the poop differences because I have always used the same brand. Either way, it's P-O-O-P....I expect it to stink
