Unless you're keeping them inside or in a heated coop, this stuff will also get cold/freeze and can make it worse. It's best to do nothing.Vaseline the combs and wattles. Mushers Secret works well too. It's kinda like Vaseline, but thicker.

That is false more often than it is true.Hot water freezes faster than cold water.
I have to say that I strongly disagree. There’s some moisture, but it’s not like there are standing puddles or something. Not a fan of deep litter in the coop or run! As you and other members have mentioned moisture is the enemy! Deep litter will just add more of it! IMHO!
That's why I don't do deep bedding.I have to say that I strongly disagree. There’s some moisture, but it’s not like there are standing puddles or something.
Proper, well-sited ventilation compensates.
That’s very confusing…That's why I don't do deep bedding.
Why we use horse bedding pellets. The humidity here is already high, add chickens breathing and pooping. Current humidity 74%. Coops are 64% and 68%.Not a fan of deep litter in the coop or run! Sorry... I meant deep litterThat’s very confusing…
I have deep litter (not bedding), and 0 problems with ammonia buildup or condensation.
