Is gamebird feed a good source for winter?

Thought I read a thread about it but wasn't sure. Can it be fed solely or mixed with layer feed. Looking for something to add fats and protein and keep the chickens warmer.

I wouldn't change their feed.

add some "treats" if you feel the need, extra meat in the diet goes a long way. nice fresh veggies and fruits they might not get otherwise. Worms. Tuna. meats left from dinner.

I added some gamebird conditioner to my feed for the winter. 2/3 regular feed plus 1/3 game bird. I found it easier than buying s bunch of different grains sperately and mixing my own.

I used it to get them through their molt. I used about 1/4 game bird feed to 3/4 layer feed. They seemed to get over the molt quicker, they look great and egg production is getting back to normal.
