Is he eating enough? -hedgehog question-

A lump? I definitely need a pic, like NOW. Also, you need to pick him up and put him under your shirt to get him warm. Do you have a snuggle safe disk, or a heat pad?

We have a heat pad and a heater (but we make sure it doesn't get to hot).

Aspen. But we're changing to fleece liners- probably today. We're about to take him to the breeder we got him from and ask her these questions, and pick up the liners.

I don't think there's a scab- i'll check.

I have good-ish news. We went to the breeder to ask about the lumps, and she said it was because he had mites. She gave him some medicine, and said it should go away. Maybe the mites are in the bedding. He's been eating and drinking alot- hopefully he'll gain weight. Thanks so much for your advice! I'll update on his progress later. Is there any specific thing I should do other than the medicine?

Yeah, I'd definitely love to know which breeder you got him from. Did she tell you exactly what it is you're giving him?

I would take him to the vet for a real assessment. I don't want to call any names, but my hogs have been HEAVILY infested with mites before (they got brought in when I bought a new girl - more like rescued!). They never got lumps. And trust me, you would know, because they don't just bite them, they'll also bite you. I remember well, because they infested the whole house and there were bite marks all over us. And the only thing that can cure mites is a trip to the vet and some worming shots, along with complete bedding changes and cage disinfection, as well as thoroughly vacuuming all the carpeted/upholstered surfaces.

If you can't get small bags of the royal canin baby cat 36, I believe it also comes in wet food form. And if he doesn't like to eat anything else, he should really enjoy that

It's what I fed my baby Raphael when he was dying from testicular cancer. I'd also closely watch him, make sure he acts normal, as well as watch his stools.

We're taking him to a vet who treats hedgehogs today. They sound really great- the lady has hedgehogs herself. I'll let you guys know after my appointment.
