My 6mo rooster seems to always let the girls eat first when I feed or bring treats.
He sure isn't losing any weight, so I assume he gets his after the girls are done.
He'll stand close to his "sister" (got them as 2 day-old chicks) and make little soft sounds as she eats before taking a bite himself.
Is this Big Boy behavior?
He hasn't got spurs yet, but has tried mating the hens who not only shrug him off, but then chase his adolescent butt all over the yard.
Keeping my fingers crossed for him to stay nice.....
