My crew of 6 sexed pullets from Meyer Hatchery (2 EEs, 2 Dominiques, 1 likely BR, and 1 likely RSL (or NHR?)) are 8 weeks old as of yesterday. None of the chicks has a red, prominent comb at this point, although there is some variety in terms of development. Hildegard (aka "Hildy") is an Easter Egger with fluffy ear muffs and really striking dark and light coloring. She's the largest of the crew (although both of the EEs are on the bigger side) and is a leader. Her stance is sometimes different than the others, and I'm wondering if you see any signs she might be a cockerel. A friend of mine with property outside city limits will be taking 2 of my chicks as she rebuilds her own flock, and she's agreed to take a cockerel if needed. Any insights would be appreciated! Thank you!
