Is it advisable to use Corid occasionally as a preventative?

The farm store was having a store-wide sale so I picked some up thinking that with the wet months coming it might be handy. The chickens seem healthy to me right now, but I have read that coccidiosis is extremely common especially in wet climates.

When using Corid (amprolin) do you have to stop eating the eggs?

I have seen posts with preventative dosages, but I would like to know the answer to that also.

It's what is in medicated chick starter, Amprolium. Not sure what the dosage is for ongoing use, though. You can eat the eggs since it is not an antibiotic. Usually, by the time birds are adults they are immune to the oocycsts in their soil, though it is possible for adults to contract cocci under certain conditions. Never had to treat any adults for it.
