Well, I haven't seen him back since his little run in with the chicken wire.
Actually, I've SEEN him, but not anywhere near my flock.
I've been keeping my partially blind hen in the pen for safety's sake. I hate having her stay in there, I"d much rather she be out in grass getting some sunlight (my pens are pretty well sheltered). But I don't want her getting picked up either.
Although I think your right, the hawk may have been suprised when she just stood there instead of taking off or running. Or maybe he didn't see her, who knows. I suppose a polish chicken is funky enough to not look like a chicken from a hawk's point of view.
