This is Ptery (short for Pterodactyl) I bought her and 2 other Black Australorps as 6 month old from a local lady who orders them from hatcheries and then raises them to sell as laying hens. She is about 7 or more months now if that is true and still isn't laying - only one of the 3 is in fact. Her face is only just starting to redden and she is HUGE. I wondered for a bit if I might not have gotten a Jersey Giant on accident. But the bottoms of her feet are pink, so Australorp she is I guess. You can see in the picture of her standing next to our Cuckoo Maran rooster that even though her legs are shorter she is about as tall as him - and her super long neck makes her look almost goose like :) Anyone else ever have or see a Black Australorp like this? Think she's really a mix of some kind?

Here she is next to her sister Bug

She is a funny girl. She will tolerate being pet some, but not super snuggly. But she loves to listen to you talk to her and she has the prettiest eyes that look like tortoiseshell agate.

She is beautiful, as all all your girls! Love her name too!
