Well it depends on how many eggs you want to hatch. Last hatch I only wanted to hatch 12 eggs so I let the broodies sit on the eggs in to coop until I was ready to move them. This current hatch I want to fill the incubator to the max so I had to eggs in the house sitting next to the incubator untill I had enough eggs. How many eggs do you plan on incubating?

I say you can leave them with the hen, but move the hen sooner than later
