is it by nature that most light coloured quail are skittish?

i have this very skittish cinnamon ginger quail and i hatched her egg and her chick is just like her mother

my guess would be that its skittish because the mothers DNA was skittish more than the mothers color was skittish. If that makes sense.

yeah maybe we've been discuss with my friend who's owning a quail too said that from her experinced light coloured quails are so skittish

I think it might be a instinct kind of thing for the mor elight coloured birds to be skittish because they’re easier to spot, they’re not sure that they can just blend into the nearby shrubs and bushes, whereas the pharaoh pattern and the others that are similar in colouring can just slink onto the bushes and disappear.

My late cinnamon/fawn Japanese quail wasn't necessarily more skittish, though he was far more mischievous compared to Scrappy, his Pharaoh brother.

I agree. I currently only have three quail that will allow me to hold and pet them, and two are English whites.

Honestly, my three friendliest from my super skittish batch were an Italian hen, a German hen and a tuxedo hen.
