Am I crazy/ will this not go well to let these chicks mix in with these pullets ( all Easter eggers)? I have 2 pullets about 7-10 weeks old and I have 3, 4 week old chicks all in the same coop as of a few hours ago. They all are seeming fine, sharing food, sharing space no fighting or picking on as of now. Would they be showing signs of bullying already or should I just find a way to completely separate? I have 2 foods and 2 waters so they can stay apart if they want.

I have a decent amount of space for 5 birds as well. They seem to be fine. I have been doing 20-30 min check ups and the older birds are up on the roost bar and the little ones are just kinda playing below and exploring. Haven’t seen any issues so far.

I just didn’t know if issues start right away or if I need to keep checking a bunch after a day or so.

My grow out coop is roughly 4 x 14, I just cut their run in half, its now around 18 x 10. In theory, with a pair of perfect hatches, it could contain 24 birds, half 10 wks, half 7 wks - right before I move the elders out and replace with the latest hatch.

Keep checking - not every half hour or so, but in the evening as they settle down for bed, make sure the "bigs" are letting the "littles" in out of the weather. and at feeding times.

Are you sure it's not too hot in there? It appears those birds are trying to get as far away from your heat lamp as possible.

Yea that was right after I put them in so they spread out. I have a live reading in there it is 69 degrees and 59% humidity. They should be fine. The two older always sit on the roost there looking out the window and the little ones are by the light now hanging out.
