Is it just me? Is this the end of the forum I used to enjoy so much?

as mentioned, this is a community of folks with one common interest. we all have other unique aspects to our lives and that is what makes for conversation. otherwise we could all just read textbooks. i find this particular thread odd as all i hear about is how "historic" the recent election was and now we shouldn't discuss the ramifications or current events as they apply to and effect each one of us. of all the opinions i could get on daily life and politics i think those coming from this site are more valuble to me than some "political" forum where posters live and breathe politics. should we dump the quilt thread ? i don't make quilts - i don't read the thread. consider this a big virtual library and stay. just choose not to frequent the periodical section.

My favorite is "Are they REAL eggs?" implying that store bought eggs are some how manufactured.

And yes, I do sometimes think we stray from the base of "urban chickens" but we DO have other interests and we like to learn and share with others.

The section is Random Ramblings so if I want to talk about my latest 78facet Standard Round Brilliant faux diamond I just finished cutting from a piece of green coke bottle glass....I can.

In the other sections I try my very best to stick to the forum definition topic. ....just like everyone else.

I don't whine if my post don't get answered, I'll post .... no one replies or maybe one or two folks will, I really don't care. I think it is hilarious. Only because some folks can post about what may seem silly to me, but they will have 10 pages of replies ( ex. do you have a favorite toilet in the house) interesting to some, not so interesting to others. It is the person, like the count down or contest of thread killers, or no post. I get it, that is funny, cause they are not whining just laughing about it really. It seriously depends on the person, and I don't hold it against them if they just take things wrong. Cause I am

Seems you enjoy a fair amount of regular talk like the rest of us so don't be too quick to bow out of the community...you might just have the bit of advice that the next person that posts needs. I definitely don't agree with everybody here and some postings can get under the skin and annoy me...I can either respond or move on past them. "Random Ramblings" is the place for "everything else"...most message boards have them because the random conversations always seem to pop up. The moderators and administrators here do a fine job of keeping the board running smoothly and putting out fires as they pop up. My hat's off to them!

Hang tight, where else are you gonna get this kind of information and feedback...for free?

Yesterday I was discusing a case of mistaken chicken identity with my two chicken lady friends. We were talking about how her 'orpingtons' were obviously NOT, and how they looked like meat birds.

My one friend said, absently, "I wonder if Broilers lay eggs....."












I said, um, yeah, thats where the babies come from....

(She meant, she wondered if they are good layers!)

I think it's great that people with so many different race, religions, creeds, colors and thought can get together and agree on 1 thing chickens, but it's also great that they trust the people on the forum that they can discuss almost anything in RR without being censored because they have a different view, and I admit I have learned a great deal about things other than chickens(even tho that is still the main reason I hit this forum)If the listing is something i think I might know something about or be interested in I open it, if not, the little wheel on my mouse just keeps rolling. marrie
