Is it just me, or are the ants a little over the top this year?

I have friends a few miles from here with an ant infestation. But this year we have an abundance of "clicking" small beetles. They have two segments, and are a dark brown, and they make a clicking sound and sort of "pop" or flip around if you touch them.

It seems each year there is an abundance of some kind of bug or another.

I agree! Last year for us there was bunches of crickets everywhere. My dad had ants in his closet and he went to put on pajamas and there were ants in the pants! I honestly don't hate anything, but I hate ants. They are so little, the retaliation isn't as satisfactory.

Kinnip...I love the way you write. Ants bad up here in Canada this year as well. No tips for eliminating them tho'. However, regarding the borax solution.....I sent some to my daughter last year when she was interning at Dolphin Quest in Bermuda to help with the cockroach problem and I remember reading at the time to keep your pets away from the borax/sugar combo. Can make them quite ill. Good Luck.

I HAD a problems with ants ..that was until I let my hens freerange....(insert evil laugh here) they scratched the ant hills down to nothing and I have not seen an ant in the house ever since...

we had ants last year too and what I did because I dont like to use chemicals because of my kids/dogs/and cats....I heard that if you pour boiling hot water from the kettle down the hole this will kill them...
