Is it just me or......

Are Hatching eggs not selling very well? I have posted several times and ended up having to boil eggs and feed them to the chickens or toss them. Sometimes I wonder why I am feeding all the chickens I have if I can't sell a few eggs to help pay for their feed? I buy eggs to improve my flocks . I don't offer my eggs for high prices either, I think they are reasonably priced.

I have noticed that it is slower than last year. And there is more competition on other sites for selling opportunities.

I havent resorted to EBAY yet. Still holding out for things to pick up

I was looking for SLW last week. I couldn't find anything. I wanted some hatching eggs, but had to wait for a broody. I finally had 2 and couldn't find any eggs to put under them. Too late now, one is sitting on turkey eggs and the other is on my mutt eggs. I'll try again next year.

I've been having decent luck with auctioning my Cochin eggs. But I'm not sure if I'll even try to sell my more expensive/rarer breeds of eggs.

Yep, definately slower right now. Earlier in the year I was able to auction about 5 dozen of my cuckoo maran eggs. The last auction I placed a couple of weeks ago didn't get even a nibble.

We had a BIG Easter! Donated 8 dozen eggs to our church for the yearly Easter breakfast. Got lots of compliments though.

I tossed about 5 dozen eggs last week, they never sold and then got too old.

I've been selling mine for eating. I have those barred rocks in the bator now for hatchability before I send some to lockedhearts! She gets a freebie - she sent me some a couple months ago!

I've been considering putting my eggs on Freecycle just so they don't go to waste. At least maybe some needy families could use and enjoy them.
