... Or are quail the dumbest bird to raise? I know they are the dumbest bird that I have ever raised. I have an 1/8" deep lid with rocks in it and they still find a way to drown in it. Its like they force there selves in between the rocks and lay face first into the water. It amazes me how something that is 2" tall can drown in 1/8" of water anyway. That would be like me falling into 4 or 5" of water and drowning. You have to try to do things like that. Maybe thats it... my quail are suicidal.

I have been explaining how to butcher them to potential customers. Maybe that's it. They figure they might as well get it over with.

Mine are just a couple of days old but they seem to be think their ducks or something. Ducks are the only birds that I ever seen playing in water like these coturnix quail.

They're born with four wheel drive and try to climb the water dish, when they get in it they realize that they can't float and get high centered on a marble.

Has anyone tried to use the water nipples or rabbit style waterers for them?
