Is it mareks?

My Tylan came in today. Im going to attempt to treat orally Monday night. I want to finish the sulfa first for cocci and I'm waiting on a scale to arrive to weigh the cockeral. I also got rooster booster vitamins and dewormer that I read helps with respiratory problems that I'll start tomorrow morning.

My question about Tylan is how many days do I dose him for?
Treat for 5 days.

Perfect, thank you!

I just wanted to give an update.
My scale arrived today.

I think we are in the clear on cocci. All poop looks much better! I started probiotics yesterday.

The pullet is teetering between 90-95% back to normal, save for a bit of a pale face in comparison to her sister. I now doubt it's mareks, but we shall keep watching and see.

The cockerals eye is pretty gnarly with the infection but I've been rinsing it while waiting on meds and scale to arrive. I will be dosing him orally this evening with the Tylan. I'm a bit nervous, but studied @casportponys photographs and explanations thoroughly and feel ok about it. Asking for thoughts and prayers that I don't injure him in the process.

What would be the quickest way to get the Tylan into them and working? Injecting? I'll give it a go. I'm going to get some today. The thing that has me thrown off is that there doesn't appear to be nasal discharge or coughing /sneezing. The bubbles in the eye aren't foamy, either. Just one or two bubbles. I wonder if I can give the Tylan on top of the Sulfadimethoxine. I may have to isolate him and the pullet and put them on just the Tylan.

I weighed my cockeral and he's only 22 ounces. So that would just be 1cc of meds total, correct? Or should I do about 1/2 of that?

I did it! It went surprisingly well. I put the little syringe down the back of his throat while my hubby held him and he was surprisingly calm. Much more calm than when flushing his eye with saline. Poor guy

I gave him 1/4 a cc because I read that was a good dosage for young and small birds. I'll keep y'all updated on his progress!

My pullet is completely better and the color in her comb, face, and wattles has returned.

The cockeral is another story. He's been on Tylan 50 for 3 nights at 1/4a cc for the first night and 1/2 a cc the last two nights, and no improvement. He looks like he's getting worse. This morning I noticed he's scratched the eye so much that the lids, which are still swollen and constantly waterlogged with fluid, are now oozing some blood. At which point should I consider putting him down? Should I wait and give the meds two more days?

I'm glad to hear your pullet is doing well.

Can you post some photos of the cockerel?

Are you flushing the eyes with saline a couple of times a day and applying eye ointment (Terramycin or Vetericyn) to the eyes?

I'm sorry he's not improving.

Thank you, I'm flushing with saline morning and night. I can see if tractor supply has either of those meds after work. I will try adding those tonight. I will also try to get pics as well. Thanks again for your advice.

This is his eye on day 4 of Tylan 50 1/2 a cc before I rinsed it. I started the Microcyn AH last night (of course TSC didn't have vetericin or the Terramycin). I've noticed it isn't oozing blood from where he scratched the skin off. Anything else I can do? Bump up dosage?

This is what I got.
