It isn't just Craigs' list. I get them from eBay members. I think it is good that people are getting tired of the way things are & are starting to say something but I just wish they would educate there self a little before they open there mouth. It seems they have good intentions but they are always aimed at the wrong people. I'm sure this poster was trying to make a blunt statement about the over crowding of unwanted animals but was just to stupid to address the right people.

i find there are more militant folk in the Pets section. They are mistakenly applying the spay/neuter issue that is so important to dogs and cats to your chickens. Some people just have nothing better to do than tell other people what to do. Ignore them.

i know you are selling them as pets, but if you continue to have problems, try posting them in the Farm and Garden section. And don't worry, you will find homes for them. Just give it time.

i definately understand wanting to get the point across that there are many unwanted animals & whatnot in this world, but to target me was ridicuous. ill get over it though lol. im definately glad i dont have their issues !! & i tried to check out the ebay thing.. im not too good with ebay & ive never used it before, but i saw a few posts. Some people are just soooo ignorant !

I try not to take anything to heart thats said or replied to on craigslist. Lots of people get on there just to 'fish' or troll. Theyre bored and I guess have nothing else to do then post and see if it upsets anyone. Also Ive noticed that the more people respond to their ad the happier they are. Ive seen people post ads for 'help me find this stupid mutt a home or else he'll get shot' then of course all kinds of people respond to them and it gets a big war started on CL. I think they do it mostly just to work people up. Childish..

Around here, that's called "Extended nose disease".

When we first moved into our farm there was an old guy that lived up the street. He would drive past the farm and yell at us to feed our horses, and why do we have so many. He would also say that they had no water and they were throwing their water tub around in the pasture. True, they were playing with a muck bucket, but we installed automatic waterers so they have fresh cool water 24/7. As for the feeding, I typically feed at odd hours, so he wouldn't see me out there actually giving them the food. Plus, we get in some pretty sad looking horses from the kill pen at auction. He had no idea what he was talking about, and one day, after my rescued pony mare almost died from trying to give birth to a horse baby (who was still born), he stopped and was really giving us a hard time (threatening to call the ASPCA & stupid stuff). I completely flipped. That guy got a SERIOUS piece of my mind - and I was not nice. After that, my hubby called the township and asked them what to do... They said they couldn't really do anything, but I think they stopped it, because he was always placing complaints with them about us. Since then, he has not bothered us at all. I think he got the point, but it unfortunately took me screaming at him to get it to stop. It's hard when you do the right thing, and people don't inquire to your situation before they accuse. I can't say don't take it to heart because I know I did, but don't linger on it...

This is exactly why I never post my chickens in the pet section on craigslist because everyone in the pet section seems to think anyone who posts anything must be some sort of cruel nasty breeder that is not responsible for their actions. You did nothing wrong but maybe that person is just feeling a bit guilty for the way they treat their own animals.
