Is it medicated?

Hi all - very newbie question - I went to buy some producers pride 16% for laying hens and I’m assuming that it’s not medicated, but there’s nothing on the bag that says it explicitly. Can anyone tell me if it is or isn’t? And is it only chick food that is medicated? Thanks!

It does not contain amprollium, yes. I'd recommend getting feed that's (atleast 17%) 18% protein, it's better for your average dual purpose, occasional treats given, hens.

That feed is not medicated. Only chick feed will be medicated, and it will say on the bag if it is. Medicated feed helps prevent coccidiosis which is most common in chicks. Adults do not need medicated feed, since its not common for them to get coccidiosis and it probably wouldn't help much to prevent it.

Layer feeds are never medicated.

Feed is unmedicated unless specifically labelled as medicated. No label = no medication.

I agree that 16% is low. 18% is better, 20% is best.
