Is it necessary...

    To have a pond if you want to raise ducks for their eggs?

    Nope. Will they LOVE a pond? Sure, but if you don't have space, a kiddie pool is fine too. The first year I raised ducks, their "play water" was an under the bed storage container [​IMG]

    They just need something to stick their heads in. Swimming is a bonus. Mine get the kiddie pool daily in summer and a concrete mixing bin every other day in winter. Helps to keep their feathers nice, clean, and fluffy, therefore insulating them more in winter.
