Is It Normal? (5 Month Old Rooster)

He's been hormonal since he was 3 1/2 months old. He doesn't leave his favorite pullet alone(She's the same age). He's always trying to mount her everyday and sometimes is able to but she always tries to knock him off.
I've chased him around the yard a lot, is that wrong? I think that's why he was always leaving me alone before because I scared him away.

Chasing him when he misbehaves is fine.
I do that with mine.
I don’t want him terrified of me because then he may see you as a threat to the girls.
You just want him to respect you and give you space.
