Is it normal for hens to have beef with each other?

So funny. Two of my hens, Easter Egger and an olive egger, were going at it the other day, chest bumping and squawking. Then my barred rock, who is so docile and friendly, and who I didn’t think was at the top of the pecking order, marched in between the two of them and loudly broke them up! It was hysterical!

Cluckingheck that video was kind of hard to watch. What's up with that rooster?! Do something bro :hmm

I hate the pecking order. My Buff Henrietta has been going after my Australorp Raven last few weeks. Raven is submissive to her and she still does it. My Dominique Daisy is always lowest on pecking order and she's my smallest pullet. Daisy always gets extra treats though😄

I have no idea why he didn’t do anything sooner, honestly. I guess he thought they needed the time to “work it out”. The barred rock hen, Nelly, was broody at the time and had just gotten off to eat & drink. Apparently Copper, the ISA brown, took offense to that.
