Is it normal for hens to stop laying when you move them into a house?

I have four hens and a rooster That have never been housed before- they just lived in the backyard, but because of some issues with the temperature dropping and not being able to keep the poop off the porch we built them a house out of an old garden shed by cutting a rectangle out of the side and attaching a 10 by 6 chain link dog kennel. They have everything they could possible want and more, but they haven't laid for almost a week. I am completely stumped. I was getting 2-3 eggs every day before I moved them. Not sure what to do.

I'm very interested in this too. I have had to make some changes that I think have caused my hens to either stop laying or not start (b/c it was right around the time they should have started laying). But I'm new and I didn't know they were so sensitive.

About the rooster question, I have 2 Wayndotte mix roos and they're great with my kids. I have a 4yo who thinks he's a wildlife (and all other varieties of animal) specialist, so he works with the chickens all the time and the roos don't mess with him. He actually cornered one of my hens in the hen house yesterday and picked her up. I asked him why he did that; he said he was checking her weight. I asked what he found out and he said that she weighed one hundred and ten hundred pounds. This was at the dinner table, so my older kids started howling with laughter. I don't think that Caramel was laughing.
